Definition: a professional who helps individuals and corporations meet their long-term financial objectives by analyzing the client's financial status and setting a program to achieve that client's goals. 

License: can achieve Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation; must be licensed as an investment adviser representative to give investment advice as well as sell securities; are often licensed as an insurance agent
