Whistleblower: A whistleblower is an individual who provides original information that would not otherwise be known to the Securities Division but is known to the whistleblower as a result of a status providing the whistleblower with access to origianl information. Whistleblowers may be awarded up to 10% of the amount of the monetary penalty (includes fines and restitutions back to victims) to the whistleblower(s) in each case.
