Secretary of State’s office collaborates for INgov road shows

(Indianapolis) – A unique collaboration among State of Indiana agencies and the Indiana Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business has been established, and a fall schedule has been announced.

The inaugural "Ingov Roadshow" will feature state agencies and organization representatives discussing services their offices provide to help Indiana small businesses. In addition to Secretary of State Todd Rokita’s office, participating agencies include: Homeland Security, Department of Revenue, Department of Workforce Development, Department of Environmental Management, Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Department of Administration, Department of Labor, Department of Transportation, Indiana Office of Energy & Defense Development, and Indiana Utility Consumer Counselor.

"These road shows were created with the special needs of small business owners in mind," said Secretary Rokita. "Having a variety of agencies on hand at one time can be a tremendous help for anyone interested in starting a small business or wanting the tools and resources needed to grow a business. Networking opportunities will also help the entrepreneurs learn from one another."

The sessions will be offered in four different regions of the state throughout the latter part of October, and depending on the level of participation, Roadshows may be expanded to other communities.

Sessions are free but space is limited. Registrations can be made by calling 888-472-3244 or by visiting www.IN.gov/confreg.

Currently, four Roadshows are scheduled:

October 23 – Evansville, IN Ivy Tech, Vectren Auditorium, 3501 First Avenue, Evansville 3-6 p.m. (local time)

October 24 -- Indiana Government Center, Conference Center, 402 West Washington St., Indianapolis 2-5pm (local time)

October 30 – Ivy Tech Auditorium, Room 1200, 3800 North Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne, 3-6p.m. (local time)

October 31 – Indiana University Northwest, Savannah Center Auditorium, 3400 Broadway, Gary 3-6p.m. (local time)
