(Indianapolis) – Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita will be delivering keynote remarks at this year’s official launch of the 2nd Annual Money Smart Week Indiana on Monday, Oct. 15. The inauguration takes place from 7:45am-9:30am at the IUPUI University Place Conference Center & Hotel, 850 West Michigan Street, Indianapolis. Rokita’s remarks will begin at approximately 9:15 a.m.

Rokita’s office is also providing a free investor education workshop called “Protect Your Pockets” in conjunction with Money Smart Week on Saturday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the University of Indianapolis Schwitzer Student Center, 1400 East Hanna Ave., Indianapolis. This workshop is co-sponsored by the University of Indianapolis School of Business and Crowe Chizek.

Financial literacy should be a part of lifelong education for all ages, and I hope my office, through Indiana Investment Watch and Money Smart Week, can play an instrumental role in helping all of us become more financially fit,” Rokita said.

Protect Your Pockets workshops are an important component of the Indiana Investment Watch program developed by the Secretary of State's office. Indiana Investment Watch is a broad-based campaign that promotes basic financial awareness, and arms Hoosiers with the tools needed to prevent fraud. Protect Your Pockets workshops are one of the many types of investor education outreach funded by this program.
