"Working for the Help America Vote Act as the Outreach Intern was not only a great summer experience but also my fi
rst brush with the world of state politics. As part of the outreach arm of the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office, I had a great time getting out into Indiana communities, talking to constituents and spreading the word about the work being done by the four divisions of the SOS office. My past experience has been in the field of communications and my work provided ample opportunities to exercise my communication background and skills. One of my major undertakings was the creation http://www.votecenters.in.gov/, a comprehensive guide for Indiana counties looking at switching to the vote center model for elections. This internship was the first taste of what I hope will transform into a lifelong involvement and interest in Hoosier politics and I can’t express how happy I am that I was given the opportunity to spend the summer here."
