Recount commission meeting to be streamed live via web portal

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 2, 2010) – Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita announced today this Sunday’s recount commission meeting will be streamed live via a web portal located on the office’s website – www.sos.in.gov/.
“Allowing the public to view the meeting live via the Internet is important in preserving the election process and achieving government transparency,” Rokita said. “Individuals can simply click a link and have a front row seat to this weekend’s meeting.”
The web portal will be posted to the home page of the Secretary of State’s website – www.sos.in.gov/ – before this Sunday’s recount commission meeting. The public meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Conference Room B of the Indiana Government Center South Building, located at 402 W. Washington St. in Indianapolis.
During the meeting, the Indiana State Recount Commission will hear motions to dismiss that have been filed with respect to the contest petitions in the elections for House District 76 and for the Office of the Indiana Secretary of State. The contest petition filed in HD 76 is separate from the recount petition filed with respect to that election – the meeting will not address the recount petition.
