FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 19, 2010

Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita issued the following statement today regarding the Indiana Senate Elections Committee’s passage of Senate Bill 241, which, among other things, would give all 92 counties the option of adopting Vote Centers:

“This is a great first step for a bill that would result in significant and lasting government reform,” said Secretary Rokita. “Vote Centers would benefit any county that chooses to adopt it as an option. I am encouraged that Senator Lawson, who authored this bill, Chair Landske and the members of the committee believe in the continuing evolution of our elections and understand how valuable the option could be for the local election officials, voters and taxpayers.”
