Fellowship Criteria

Who can apply?

The Secretary of State's Fellowship Program is open to any college student at a sophomore standing or higher.

What are the desired qualifications?

An applicant should be a professional and well-organized student with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Applicants must possess a strong knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as some understanding of typical administrative responsibilities. Candidates must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

When is the fellowship program offered?

Summer fellows will work from the end of May to the beginning of August.

How do I apply?

All candidates need to submit the following to be considered for the fellowship program.

  • Current transcripts
  • Required essays-detailed in application
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Current resume
  • Completed Application

The Office of the Indiana Secretary of State will review each application individually. Applications will be accepted through March 29, 2013. Those who qualify will be contacted for an interview. Interviews will begin on April 3, 2013.
