The summer Fellowship Program includes three months of hands-on experience at the Secretary of State's office. Duties assigned to the Fellows include special projects and duties essential to the daily operations of servicing Hoosier Taxpayers.
“This internship is valuable to me because it has opened my eyes to the opportunities that the Secretary of State’s office can provide for current lawyers and lawyers to be. It’s unique because I get a taste of every department Secretary Rokita oversees. It provides an unusual opportunity to do different types of work and figure out which interests me most.” Ellen Winternheimer, 2009.
“I love getting to meet elected and appointed officials. I often see these people on television discussing the big topics surrounding the state of Indiana, and this fellowship has taken that interest several steps farther for me; I’ve been given multiple opportunities to meet with those elected officials to talk with them and discuss what makes them tick.” Sam Spahn, 2009.
“Meeting these elected officials is an eye-opening experience that most people do not get to experience, and one that I will not forget.” Donald Kelly, 2009.
