Welcome to our state senate district's virtual office.  I invite you to explore this online home of state government.  I hope you find this site's resources very useful.  My goal is to bring state government as close as a computer keyboard at your school, work, library or home.

 

On August 13, 2011, hundreds of first responders from the Indianapolis Fire Department, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Indiana State Police and Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene of the Indiana State Fairgrounds in response to a report of the collapse of the grandstand stage. Senate Concurrent Resolution 21, authored by State Sen. Jim Merritt, honors the heroes from that day.
