INDIANAPOLIS - Ron Stiver, Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), today announced that BMV license branches will extend hours of operation on Monday, May 5 and on Tuesday, May 6 to issue state identification cards and driver licenses needed for the general election.
Full service license branches, normally closed on Mondays, will be open on Monday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Branches will be open on Tuesday, May 6 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Indiana BMV provides free, state-issued ID cards for voting purposes to any unlicensed Hoosier, as long as he or she can provide proper documentation and is old enough to vote in the next general election.
