DR. MONROE, OSCAR ROBERTSON TEAM UP FOR UPCOMING HEALTH FAIR
INDIANAPOLIS -- On Thursday, July 19, State Health Commissioner Judy Monroe, M.D. and legendary Hoosier basketball player, Oscar Robertson, will hold a news conference to discuss the upcoming INShape Indiana Black & Minority Health Fair (July 19-22), which is part of the Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration (July 12-22). The conference is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Indiana Convention Center, located at 100 South Capitol Ave.
Sponsored by the State Department of Health, the INShape Indiana Black & Minority Health Fair offers free health education and counseling services on issues that affect the health of minority populations in Indiana. In addition to promoting the INShape Indiana messages of eating well, moving more, and quitting smoking, this year's Health Fair will focus on a healthy home environment.
The opening ceremony for the INShape Indiana Black & Minority Health Fair will begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 19,near Exhibit Hall A of the Indiana Convention Center. Robertson, who was named "Player of the Century" by the National Association of Basketball Coaches in 2000, will deliver the keynote address in the health fair's opening ceremony.
