Warren County, Indiana-A Williamsport, Indiana man was killed today in a motorcycle crash that occurred on State Road 263 at Tower road.
Indiana State Police Senior Trooper Josh Edwards responded to a two vehicle crash, at approximately 12:00 p.m. (E.S.T.), where a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Tyler Potts, 25 of Williamsport, was north bound on State Road 263 when a 1998 Dodge Intrepid, driven by Kay Lape, 74 of West Lebanon, who was south bound on State Road 263 attempted to turn left onto Tower Road.
Lape did not see Potts' motorcycle and turned in front of it. Potts was taken to Saint Vincent's Hospital in Williamsport where he was pronounced dead of massive trauma to his head and chest. He was wearing a helmet. Family was notified.
Lape was cited for failure to yield to another vehicle. She was not injured.
Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash.
State Road 263 at Tower Road was closed for approximately 2 ½ hours for reconstruction of the crash, removal of the injured and vehicles.
