Madison County-Indiana State Police arrested an Anderson, Indiana man at 12:00 a.m. this morning for possession of marijuana.
Trooper Richard Clay (Pendleton District) was patrolling in Madison County near Fletcher and 21st Streets, and stopped a 1991 Honda Accordpassenger vehicle for a traffic violation.
Upon speaking to the driver, Joshua W. Garrison, age 22, 2115 Jefferson Avenue Anderson, Indiana the trooper could smell the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, the Trooper Clay discoveredGarrison was in possession of marijuana.
Garrison was arrested and preliminarily charged with:
- Possession of marijuana under 30 grams, a class "A" misdemeanor
Garrison was taken to the Madison County Jail and held on bond.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
