Today the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) honored the winners of the 2010 ISDA Photo Contest at a ceremony and reception in the Statehouse South Atrium. The Department is very grateful to Lt. Governor Becky Skillman who was able to rearrange her schedule to greet the winners after the ceremony.
"Your photographs tell the story of Indiana Agriculture and capture the care farmers have for our landscape, communities and economy," Indiana Agriculture Director, Joe Kelsay. "They serve as an important reminder of the hard work farmers carry out not just today on National Ag Day, but 365 days a year and reflect the strong heritage that is often passed on from one generation to another."
ISDA received an overwhelming response of nearly 700 entries from the general public, agriculture and conservation organizations. Judges chose 12 overall winners, with 1st- 3rd places given in four different categories. They are as follows:

The photo entries were evaluated based on relevance to the categories and overall impression.
The winning photographs are featured in ISDA's traveling photo gallery and in a 2011 calendar sponsored by Indiana Farm Bureau and crafted by Hoosier Ag Today.
All contest submissions will be considered for future ISDA publications, web sites and newsletters, and will be made available to agriculture and conservation organizations statewide for their use.
