Participants will assemble a bluebird nesting box at Potato Creek State Park on Feb. 26. The workshop will last from 1-4 p.m. at the nature center.
Bluebirds benefits from nesting boxes because they suffer from a lack of natural nesting cavities.
Participants will learn about the ecology and needs of bluebirds and other information essential to attracting bluebirds. Participants will build a Peterson style nest box and will also be given guidelines on where and how to place the box.
If you would like to attend the workshop but don't have a rural setting to place a nest box, you can donate your box to Potato Creek for use on its bluebird trail.
Fees are $20 per kit. Regular park admission fee will be in effect.
Space is limited. Those wishing to participate must register in advance. For more information or to register, call the park at (574) 656-8186.
