Martin County: Two people are behind bars at the Martin County Jail on meth lab charges.
The investigation reveals that on Monday afternoon a resident reported that a suspicious male was seen leaving his property on CR 1100E and near CR 200S in Daviess County. The male got into a dark colored passenger car, driven by a female and left the area. A short time later a blue Dodge Stratus matching the description of the suspicious vehicle was located on Southridge Drive just south of Loogootee. Upon investigation by responding officers, items commonly associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine were located in the vehicle and the driver, Ashley Schutte, 18, Loogootee, was taken into custody.
A short time later after officers received a tip from a nearby property owner, Dustin Shayne Perry, 19, Crane was located and taken into custody.
Both Schutte and Perry were transported to the Martin County Jail and charged with the following Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Two or More Precursors with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana (Under 30 grams), Possession of Paraphernalia, and Resisting Law Enforcement.
Both were booked into the Martin County Jail with no bond awaiting their initial court appearance.
