State Fire Marshal Assists Plainfield Police with Four Arrests in Historical Home Fire

Collaboration between the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Plainfield Police Department led to the arrest of four individuals for the crime of arson.

Arrested were Andrew Taylor, Andrew Arthur, Daniel Schutte and Jessica Allen. All are adults and were incarcerated in the Hendricks County Jail in Danville after their arrest.

On July 5th at approximately 2:51 a.m., the Horace Reeve historical house, located at 5850 S. 1075 East in Plainfield, was destroyed by fire. The Plainfield Fire Territory, Decatur Township Fire Department, and other nearby fire departments extinguished the blaze.

Subsequent investigation revealed the fire was intentionally set. Tips from the CrimeStoppers and the Indiana Arson hotlines and other sources assisted the multi-jurisdictional team to identify suspects in the case.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office is a division of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
