Mitchell, IN: Join Spring Mill State Park on July 24 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. for space programs in remembrance of Mitchell's own Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom.
Visitors can talk to the Johnson Space Center through a special ham radio trailer set up by the Hoosier Hills club. Visitors may also learn about the solar system, hear sounds produced by the sun, look safely at the sun to see solar spots and flares, discover Gus Grissom's incredible story, gaze upon the night sky with the Stonebelt Stargazers and more.
Park admission is $5 per vehicle for in-state residents and $7 per vehicle for out-of-state residents. 2010 Annual Entrance Passes are also available.
