The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has extended the public comment periods on the draft environmental air permits for two facilities Liberty Green Renewables is proposing to build and operate in Milltown (Crawford County) and Scottsburg (Scott County). IDEM granted the extensions in response to citizen requests.
Citizens may mail, e-mail, fax or hand-deliver written comments for either or both of the proposed facilities through February 24, 2010, to IDEM at:

Please refer to permit number T 025-27957-00015 for comments about the Milltown location and permit number T 143-28314-00019 for comments about the Scottsburg location.
Both of the draft permits are available for public review on the IDEM Web site at www.idem.IN.gov. The public may also review the proposed permits and the permit applications at the following locations:
. The Crawford County Public Library, 203 Indiana Avenue, in English (for the facility proposed in Milltown);
. The Scott County Public Library, 108 South Main Street, in Scottsburg (for the facility proposed in Scottsburg);
. IDEM Southeast Regional Office, 820 West Sweet Street, in Brownstown (for both proposed facilities); and,
. The IDEM Central File Room (for both proposed facilities). The IDEM Central File Room is located on the 12th floor of the Indiana Government Center North building, 100 North Senate Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. It is open Monday through Friday, excluding official holidays, between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. (local time). Call (317) 234-6530 beforehand to set up an appointment.
Each air permit would allow the construction and operation of a stationary, 32 megawatt electric power generation facility that would burn clean wood and crops to create steam and drive a turbine, which will generate electricity.
The agency will consider all written comments before making its final decision.
