Knox County - Friday afternoon, November 6, Indiana State Police responded to a residence located at 106 East 11th Street, Monroe City, to investigate a complaint of illegal drug activity. The homeowners, Troy Dafron, 38, and his wife, Miranda, 31, were present. When troopers entered a nearby pole barn they immediately detected a strong chemical odor commonly associated with the manufacturing of meth. Troopers searched the barn and found numerous meth making materials, meth and a small amount of marijuana. When troopers searched the residence they found more meth, drug paraphernalia, a .380 caliber handgun, and a recipe to manufacture meth. Troopers arrested Troy and Miranda Dafron for various drug charges. The Dafron's four children, ages ranging from 9 months to 9 years, were taken into protective custody by Knox County Child Protective Services.

1. Manufacturing Meth over 3 grams, Class A Felony
2. Possession of Meth with a Firearm, Class C Felony
3. Neglect of a Dependant, Class C Felony
4. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor
5. Possession of Marijuana under 30 grams, Class A Misdemeanor
6. Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Class D Felony
