I.S.P. Versailles September Stats

Today Lt. Marty McKinney, Commander of the Indiana State Police Versailles District, released the following activity for criminal and traffic enforcement efforts by Versailles District troopers for the month of September.  Versailles District includes Dearborn, Decatur, Jefferson, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland Counties in southeastern Indiana.

This is the time of year deer begin more movement.  As farmers harvest their crops, as deer hunters take to the woods, and the "rut" or annual mating season starts to kick in, deer will be more active.  Motorists are urged to use extra caution particularly in rural areas.  Deer movement is more prevalent in the pre-dawn hours and just after dark.
