North Vernon - Tuesday, October 13, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Troopers Raymond Hunt and Derrick Simpson along with Jennings County Sheriff's Deputies went to 7095 West County Road 150 North to serve an arrest warrant. Brian Christopher Culp, 23, was wanted for failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle while a Habitual Traffic Violator.
As officer approached the house an unknown white male, wearing dark clothing, allegedly ran into a cornfield behind the residence. The unknown male was allegedly carrying a small active reaction vessel. A K-9 unit was called to track down the subject. The unknown white male subject was not located.
Officers approached the residence to locate Brian Culp and found him there with two other male subjects, Brian K. Culp, 47, and David A. Culp, 45. While there, officers allegedly detected a strong chemical odor coming from inside the residence. Drug paraphernalia and precursors used to manufacture methamphetamine were also found. The residence was secured until lab certified officers from both departments arrived to process the hazardous chemicals.
