DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne District announces that U.S. 6 will be closed in Butler at the Norfolk Southern Railroad crossing, 0.5 mile east of S.R. 1 due to a railroad crossing improvement project. The work is scheduled to begin, tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 9:00 a.m. and continue through Oct. 23, at 9:00 p.m., weather permitting.
The detour is C.R. 71 to C.R. 24 to S.R. 1, and back west on U.S. 6; this route adds 1.8 miles for thru traffic.
