Audra Butts has been named Grant Director for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), reporting to chief of staff Bob Zier.
In this position, Butts' essential duties will include coordinating the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) fund process, serving as liaison between districts, executive staff and the governor's office and coordinator for Transportation Innovation Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grants.
Additionally, she will research and identify grants for new funding sources, maintain working relationships with community agencies, various organizations and other states, and will work with INDOT staff, other state DOT staff and local municipalities for grant endorsement, coordination and submission.
"Audra has been a key player in administering the ARRA funds for INDOT," stated Michael W. Reed, commissioner for INDOT. "She also has been instrumental in making sure that we met all ARRA deadlines as well as successfully utilized our $658 million allotment to benefit the state and local municipalities."
Butts joined INDOT in September 2007 as an operations analyst and most recently served as an economist with the Planning Division. Prior to joining INDOT she worked as an account and project manager for Sport Graphics and tournament director for the American Junior Golf Association.
Butts holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Economics from DePauw University, and recently earned her MBA from the University of Indianapolis.
