LAPORTE, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will be holding a Public Meeting for applications submitted in the recent Transportation Enhancement (TE) Call for Projects. The meeting will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. (Central time) Oct. 6 in the LaPorte District Office, 315 E. Boyd Boulevard, LaPorte.
This meeting will give the public and local officials the opportunity to ask questions, make comments, discuss the merits or present concerns for the projects that were submitted for consideration. The TE program is for nontraditional transportation-related projects such as sidewalks, trails, street beautification, etc.
Each Local Public Agency (LPA) will be given no more than five minutes to discuss the project application they submitted. Projects for which additional funds were requested will be given priority in the selection procedure. The LaPorte District's recommendations will be sent to the TE Project Selection Committee, which will meet Nov. 5 in Indianapolis, for final approval.
The following applications were submitted and the LPA presentations will be in the order as listed below:
- City of Logansport - Eel River Run
- City of Delphi - Freedom Bridge
- Town of Goodland - Streetscape Improvements
- City of Monticello - Downtown Revitalization
- Town of Culver - Streetscape Improvements
- Jasper County - Courthouse Preservation
- Town of Bremen - Train Depot - additional funds
- Town of Bremen - Downtown Lighting
- Town of Lakeville - Downtown Streetscape
- Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum - Rail Rehabilitation
- Town of New Carlisle - Downtown Beautification
