ROCHESTER - Andy Miller, Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), today officially opened the new Rochester License Branch at 2070 South Main Street. The new branch is located in a Wal-Mart retail center and features a larger customer lobby, more convenient parking and a public restroom.
Before cutting the ribbon with the assistance of branch employees, Miller commented, "Over the last few years, the BMV has significantly improved the level of customer service. New and renovated branches like Rochester allow us to provide high quality service in a professional and customer friendly office environment."
"Rochester is an outstanding branch. So far this year the staff has achieved an average visit time of just five minutes. We are confident that the new branch will help them maintain that level of service in the years to come."
Miller also noted that the BMV has implemented a number of new ways for customers to do business with the BMV without visiting a license branch. The Customer Choices program includes improved online services and partnerships with auto dealers, the AAA Hoosier Motor Club and Old National Bank. Nearly 1.3 million Hoosiers renewed their registrations online 2008, and more than 129,000 have completed BMV business at a Customer Choices partner location.
