Electric utility tree trimming investigation: Public events scheduled for Tuesday, September 8 in Seymour

Two public events will be held in Seymour on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 regarding the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission's (IURC's) pending investigation of electric utility tree trimming and vegetation management practices. Both events will take place at Seymour High School, 1350 W. 2nd St.:

This is the third of six public field hearings to be conducted in this investigation, with hearings held in Muncie on August 31 and in Indianapolis on September 2. Additional field hearings are scheduled as follows:

Consumers who are unable to attend the upcoming field hearings are invited to submit written comments for the case's record to the OUCC by mail, fax or the Internet:

Written comments should include the consumer's name, mailing address, and a reference to IURC Cause No. 43663.

The OUCC - the state agency representing consumer interests in IURC cases - has filed testimony recommending that the IURC establish uniform vegetation management standards for all electric utilities under its jurisdiction.
