LAPORTE and PORTER COUNTIES, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces U.S. 12 between State Road 520 (S.R. 520) in Porter County and U.S. 35 in LaPorte County will be closed July 27-31. This will allow NICTD Railroad crews to resurface their crossing on the west side of Michigan City.

Residents and businesses will have access to their properties on either side of the closure, but through traffic will be detoured. Eastbound U.S. 12 traffic will be directed to take S.R. 520 south to U.S. 20 east to U.S. 35 north and back to U.S. 12. Westbound traffic will be directed to take U.S. 35 south to U.S. 20 west to S.R. 520 north and back to U.S. 12.
