Indianapolis- The Indiana General Assembly sent a state budget to the governor today, with support largely from Republicans in each chamber. State Senator John Broden of South Bend says he is relieved that a budget has been reached, but voted against the plan because it underfunds local schools. Broden says that he is worried that underfunding schools with declining populations will start children on a downward spiral from which they cannot recover.
