GREENE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation is announcing that it will be closing State Road 43 (S.R. 43) in Greene and Owen counties between State Road 54 (S.R. 54) and State Road 48 (S.R. 48). The closure will take place for pipe replacements under the roadway.
The closure will be Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12. Closures will begin daily at 8:00 a.m. and will reopen to traffic at approximately 2:00 p.m. each afternoon. The official detour will re-route motorists using S.R. 54, S.R. 445, S.R. 37 and S.R 48. There are ten closure points, 2.35, 6.55, 9.20, 9.35, 10.25, 10.70, 11.10, 11.60, 11.90 and 11.95 miles north of the intersection of S.R. 43 and S.R. 54. Two structures will be replaced each day.
Local traffic will have access to the point of closure; however, through traffic will not be allowed. Residents and businesses along the corridor will have access to their driveway at all times during construction.
