Request for proposals seeks supplier for substitute natural gas
INDIANAPOLIS, March 26, 2009 -- The Indiana Finance Authority (IFA) today issued a request for proposals (RFP) to find a producer and supplier of substitute natural gas (SNG) created from a coal gasification facility that is interested in entering into a 30-year contract with guaranteed savings to the retail end users.
Governor Mitch Daniels signed Senate Enrolled Act 423 on Tuesday. It authorizes the IFA, on behalf of the State, to enter into negotiations for 30-year contracts for the purchase and sale of SNG for delivery to Indiana customers.
The RFP describes the selection process and criteria that will be used to evaluate all responses. It also specifies certain requirements and qualifications of respondents and outlines particular contract terms.
The deadline for the respondents to ask questions about the RFP is April 2; responses are due on April 9. A link to the RFP may be found at http://www.in.gov/ifa/2331.htm
