BROWNSBURG - Andy Miller, Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), officially opened the new Brownsburg license branch at 860 East Main Street. The new branch is in the same retail center occupying a space just west of the old branch. It features a new layout and a public restroom.
Before cutting the ribbon with the assistance of branch employees, Miller commented, "Over the last few years, the BMV has significantly improved the level of customer service. New and renovated branches like Brownsburg continue to allow us to meet our goal of providing quality customer service and improving the efficiency of our staff. Brownsburg is an outstanding branch that has already reduced visit times by over 35 percent this year. With this new branch, customer satisfaction and service should improve even further."
Miller also noted that the BMV has implemented a number of new ways for customers to do business with the BMV without visiting a license branch, including improved online services and partnerships with auto dealers, AAA Hoosier Motor Club and Old National Bank. Nearly 1.3 million Hoosiers renewed their registrations online 2008, and more than 129,000 completed BMV transactions at one of the new BMV partnership locations.
