Since 1983, individuals who have been employed for 35 years with the State of Indiana have been recognized with a special awards ceremony and reception. In 2005, it was realized that there were a number of employees with state service exceeding 40 years, therefore we began to recognize employees with 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 years of service. This event, which is known as the Governor's Long Term Employee Reception, is an opportunity for the Governor to personally thank these dedicated employees for their many years of service to the citizens of our state.
