The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a Public Open House regarding the SR 32 project in Yorktown, Delaware County. A presentation and Open House/Display area will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 beginning at 6:00pm (ending at 8:30pm) in the Auditorium of Yorktown High School located it, 1100 South Tiger Drive in Yorktown. The SR 32 project in Yorktown, Delaware County involves road construction with added travel lanes. The total length of the project along SR 32 is approximately 1.7 miles. The typical section for the western portion of the project from Adaline Drive/Tiger Drive (CR575W) to Andrews Drive will be three lanes wide with the center lane being a two-way left turn lane. The eastern portion of the project is being designed in three sections. The typical section from Adaline Drive/Tiger Drive (CR575W) to just west of Pilgrim Boulevard will be five lanes, two lanes in each direction with a center two-way left turn lane. A four lane section with a center grass median is planned for the section from just west of Pilgrim Boulevard to Sarasota Drive. The typical section from Sarasota Drive to Nebo Drive will have five lanes with the center being a left turn lane. This project is tentatively scheduled to begin construction in 2009. Project officials including representatives from INDOT will be available to address questions, comments and concerns. The Open House area will be available throughout the evening with the formal presentation beginning at 7:00pm.
