Brown County State Park Nature Center celebrates the CCC

We are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Civilian Conservation Corp. On July 13th, 1933, Company #1561 came to Brown County to work in the state game preserve and the newly formed Brown County State Park. The work that these men did in the park was outstanding, everything from making gravel for the roads to building the National Historic Riding Stables.  There will be a display about the CCC in the Nature Center's auditorium, and two hikes highlighting where they lived and the work that they accomplished in the park. Anyone who has knowledge about Brown County's CCC camps, or memorabilia is welcome to join us in the auditorium.

Hikes and Programs are free, regular gate fees will be charged.
