INDIANAPOLIS (July 16, 2007) - The Minority and Women's Business Enterprises Division of the Indiana Department of Administration, in conjunction with the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration, will host this year's Business Diversity Series: 2007 Matchmaker Connection, on July 17, 2007. Designed to help build relationships between suppliers and buyers, the event gives minority and woman owned businesses an opportunity to showcase their products and services.
The heart of this day-long opportunity, which begins at 8:00 a.m. and culminates with Governor Mitch Daniels' Reception at 2:00 p.m., is a fast-paced, structured, networking event in which buyers and sellers are matched based on business needs and offerings. The day also features an Internet Café. Through hands-on computer-based training, firms will gain an understanding of various web-based contracting resources, equipping them with tools to increase their competitiveness.
"We are focused on offering our clients with opportunities for business growth, "said IDOA Deputy Director Commissioner Claudia Cummings. "By making connections with state prime contractors, casinos, universities, and state agencies, and by providing insight into web-based tools, we hope to provide firms with access to new opportunities and markets."
The 2007 Matchmaker event, which is sponsored by "Six of Indiana's State Institutions of Higher Education," will take place in the Indiana Government Center South Conference Center located at 402 W. Washington St., in Indianapolis. Participation in the event is by registration only. Registration is now closed.
