NEW RULES WENT INTO EFFECT ON JULY 5, 2008!!! These new rules allow HFA's to renew their licenses on inactive status and allow board members who serve on the Indiana State Board of Health Facility Administrators to earn continuing education credit for participating in board meetings. Governor Mitch Daniels signed SEA 333 into law on April 25, 2007. The new law requires the Indiana State Board of Health Facility Administrators to adopt rules establishing separate education, experience, and training requirements for licensure as a: (1) comprehensive health facility administrator; and (2) residential health facility administrator. The new law also requires a residential care facility administrator to be licensed as a comprehensive care facility administrator or a residential care facility administrator.
The Board has submitted their proposed rules to the Indiana Register. Click here for a copy. The Board held a public rules hearing on October 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m and voted to adopt the rules as proposed. The Board considered the comments of the IEDC. Please check back for updates regarding the effective date of the rules. You may send questions and comments regarding the proposed rules to the board at pla6@pla.in.gov. Thank you.
