Broker License Renewal
You may be wondering what happened to the 2013 broker renewal. Legislation passed this year moved the expiration date of the broker license to June 30, 2014. Therefore, you will not receive notification to renew your license until around April of 2014.
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some questions we have been receiving from licensees about the extension of the broker license renewal.
Can I just go ahead and renew now?
While we appreciate your proactive approach, we cannot renew a license until we are within the 60 day window of its expiration.
Can you send me a new pocketcard?
You can order a new pocketcard (free printout or cardstock version for small fee) online here.
Yes and no. If you have already obtained your usual 16 hours of CE, you ahead of the game! Although the hard June 30, 2013 date to complete those hours was removed with this legislation, these hours are still due before you renew along with the additional hours required between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.
What continuing education do I need to do before I renew in 2014?
For the period of July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2014, you must complete the approved curriculum of six (6) mandatory hours and ten (10) elective hours of continuing education. Additionally, for the period of July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014, you must complete eight (8) hours of approved continuing education. Of those eight (8) hours, two (2) must address the legislative changes enacted in P.L.127-2012. DO NOT start these last eight (8) hours before July 1, 2013; they will not count.
