Dear Real Estate Appraisers:

During the last renewal cycle you noticed that we extended the life of your current license from 24 months to 30 months, making them expire June 30, 2008 instead of December 31, 2007. This was done to make renewing more convenient for you by not having to focus on continuing education and renewing your license at the end of the year which is a busy time for everyone.

The Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC) recently became aware of this extension and has informed the Board that this extension will affect your counting education hours.

During this renewal cycle only you will need to obtain 35 hours of continuing education because of the six month extension of your license. Also, please be aware that you will need to make sure that you complete your USPAP update on the two year cycle. This means you must complete USPAP by December 31, 2007.

We appreciate your understanding in helping the State to comply with Appraisal Subcommittee regulations. The decision to require 35 hours of continuing education is not a decision of the Appraisal Board, but rather an ASC requirement.
