Vectren MATS Compliance Case

Vectren Energy Delivery has received IURC approval to install new pollution control equipment at its electric generating stations to reduce mercury and sulfur trioxide emissions.

In filings with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC), Vectren stated that it sought the plan to comply with several U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules, including the Utility Mercury and Air Toxics Standard (MATS) rule. Vectren estimated the compliance plan's capital costs at between $70 and $90 million. While the utility did not seek rate recovery of those costs in this case, it is allowed to request recovery at a future time under Indiana law.
