Auburn Municipal Water

The City of Auburn and the OUCC have reached a settlement agreement in the city's pending water rate case. The OUCC filed testimony supporting the agreement on February 16, 2018.

If the IURC approves the agreement, monthly residential water charges for a customer using 5,000 gallons will rise from $22.31 to $32.07. By comparison, Auburn's original request would have raised that amount to $33.47. The OUCC had recommended a $31.60 rate based on its technical and legal review.

The OUCC issued a November 6, 2017 news release to invite consumer comments.

Auburn's current water rates were approved in 1999.

Municipal sewer utilities are exempt from IURC oversight. Their rates are set by elected city and town councils.
