New water rates for the City of Anderson received IURC approval on March 4, 2015.
The IURC approved a settlement agreement between the OUCC and the city, which grants the increase that was requested by the city and previously approved by the Anderson Common Council. It also implements a number of consumer protections including restrictions on the use of money for depreciation and well/tank maintenance funds along with the completion of a full capital improvement plan by the city within 18 months of a Commission order.
To review the case's file, please visit the IURC's Electronic Document System and enter docket number 44510.
A public field hearing was held on Monday, September 22, 2014 in Anderson. For more information, please see the OUCC's September 3 news release.
Municipal electric and sewer/wastewater rates and charges were not at issue in this case. The Anderson municipal water utility's previous base rates were approved in December 2006.
