State government is filled with many talented and dedicated people. Unfortunately, the system those employees operate under can lead to inefficiencies and wasteful spending.
GEFP works in partnership with the rest of the executive branch to explore what those agencies do, but more importantly why they do what they do. Often we can help agencies to identify better ways to deliver necessary services and to eliminate unnecessary activities. We can also bring about synergies by discovering opportunities for cross-agency collaboration.
In addition to conducting systematic agency reviews as mandated by the legislature, GEFP also serves as a resource to other agencies to perform financial analysis for potential initiatives.
