The Office of Energy & Defense Development awards grants for projects thanks to the U.S. Department of Energy's State Energy Program (SEP).The State Energy Program (SEP) provides grants to states and directs funding to state energy offices from technology programs in DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. States use grants to address their energy priorities and program funding to adopt emerging renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

A total of $75,000 has been given to three projects in two counties.
Public Facility Improvement Grant (PFI)
The Public Facility Improvement Grant Program offers grants to public facilities [schools, local government, libraries] for energy efficiency projects such as:
Lighting Retrofits | HVAC Upgrades | Green Building Improvements
These projects serve as demonstrations of energy-efficient technologies that can be deployed across Indiana.
A total of $50,000 has been given to six projects across four counties.
Biofuels Grant Program
The Biofuels Grant Program is marketed by the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. The program offers grants to fuel retailers that purchase and install infrastructure to sell E85 and / or B20 fuel.
Two grant rounds were offered this year and a total of $428,900 was awarded to 20 projects across at least 17 counties.
