The Commodity Supplemental Foods Program (CSFP) is a federally funded and administered at the federal level by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), a division of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The program serves low-income and breastfeeding women, new mothers (up to one year postpartum), infants, children up to six years of age, and the elderly (60 and over) by providing supplemental USDA commodity foods. USDA provides food and administrative funds to state agencies, which administer and distribute the funds to public and non-profit agencies.
