Biographical Note:

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States from 1861-1865.  While he was in office he abolished slavery and preserved the United States by leading the Union to successfully win the Civil War.

Scope and Content Note:

This collection contains materials about Abraham Lincoln. Included are photocopies of his various writings and speeches.  There is also material that discusses his genealogy and personal accounts of encounters with Abraham Lincoln.  Included in this collection is also a piece of Ivy from Lincoln’s casket.
