Renewal Period for INfoExpress Delivery Services Begins June 2

INfo ExpressIt is time once again to renew your INfoExpress service for the coming year (July 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015).  The renewal form will be available at INfoExpress.in.gov starting on June 2, 2014.

Considering the dramatic fluctuations in fuel prices and the current general economic conditions, prices for the statewide courier service are unchanged from the 2014-15 rates announced last year. The Indiana State Library will also continue to offer a $525 subsidy for the first day of INfoExpress service for all libraries meeting standards. This means the cost of first-day delivery is only $100. As an added incentive to help promote resource sharing around the state, the Indiana State Library will continue to provide an additional $425 subsidy for a second day of INfoExpress service for libraries that meet any of the following criteria:

  • Subscribers to 5-days-a-week INfoExpress service;
  • Subscribers to OCLC ILL subsystem;
  • Net lenders within Indiana (# lent - # borrowed > 0); or
  • Evergreen Indiana members that subscribe to 2 or more days of service.

Private libraries, public library branches, and public libraries that fail to meet standards are ineligible for subsidies and must pay the full rate of $625 per day of delivery. Here is a breakdown of this year's rates:

Instructions for renewing your INfoExpress subscription and the new renewal form can be found at INfoExpress.in.gov.  New this year, libraries may use credit cards to pay for their INfoExpress subscriptions. An invoice will be sent upon completion of the renewal form. Renewal requests should be made by August 31, 2014 and payments are due not later than September 30, 2014 to avoid late charges and the loss of service. Checks should be made payable to the Indiana State Library.

Please contact D. Michael Hicks at (317) 232-3699, toll free (877) 835-0014 or INfoExpress@library.in.gov for more information. All INfoExpress coordinators will receive notification of the renewal process later this week.
