Apply Now for 2013 Library Leadership Academy The Indiana State Library and its Professional Development Committee are now accepting applications for the 2013 Indiana Librarian Leadership Academy. The Professional Development Committee established the Academy to prepare emerging library leaders for 21st-Century challenges. Library leaders of all backgrounds, with all kinds of experience, and in all types of libraries are encouraged to apply for the 2nd-annual program. Members of the Indiana State Library Professional Development Committee will review all applications as part of a competitive selection process. Only applications completed by the deadline, including all letters of reference, and meet the following criteria will be considered.
The deadline to submit the online application is 5/12/2013. Please contact Emily Schaber, Certification Program Consultant, at 317-234-6217 or emschaber@library.in.gov for more information. EdCamp Indy Offers Day of Learning, Fun for School Librarians Registration is now open for EdCamp Indy at Franklin High School on Thursday, June 6, 2013. EdCamps are great professional development for teachers, librarians, and administrators. EdCamps are free and Professional Growth Points (PGPs) are available. Possible topics include: IPads in the Classroom; Things That Suck!; and Common Core: It's Coming (or is it?). Grab a friend, get registered, and plan on joining the Association of Indiana School Library Educators (AISLE) and the Indiana Computer Educators (ICE) for a great day of conversation and learning! | Date Set for Institutional Libraries Spring Workshop The 2013 Institutional Libraries Spring Workshop will be held on Monday, May 13 in Indianapolis . Insitutional library staff will have an opportunity to build their collections at the Indianapolis Public Library book sale in the morning. The afternoon will be dedicated to legal and financial literacy presentations, group discussion on collection development and time for networking.
