Event Provides Full Day of LEU Opportunities The Indiana State Library invites certified public librarians to a day-long event featuring 16 workshops with an opportunity to earn up to a combination of four Library Education Units (LEUs) and Technology LEUs. Registration for LEU Day on January 12, 2012 is limited and available via the WebJunction Indiana Calendar. Registration begins at 9:00 AM (EST) in the History Reference Room at the Indiana State Library and is followed by this full lineup of courses: Session A (9:15 AM - 10:15 AM)
Session B (10:30 AM - 11:30 AM)
*In order to earn LEUs for these sessions, you must attend both parts.* Session C (12:45 PM - 1:45 PM)
Session D (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM)
*In order to earn LEUs for these sessions, you must attend both parts.* A lunch break is scheduled from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Gale, Ebsco Offer Free Product Marketing Materials In addition to the many promotional items found on the INSPIRE marketing portal, Gale offers free materials increase awareness of your library's offerings. Through Gale's Power to the User programs, libraries of all types can order materials online for specific databases like TERC, Biography Resource Center, and much more. Additionally, Ebsco all has a great catalog of free marketing materials. Ebsco Support offers a wide range of posters, bookmarks, flyers and more that you can request online. Also, be sure to check out the Ebsco Success Center for great PR tools, case studies of successful outreach campaigns, and useful and educational resources for students and patrons. Geek the Library Shares Webinars, Videos Online The Geek the Library team recently posted a recording of its "Five Simple Ways" Webinar about customizing your local campaign. This Webinar features a representative from Manatee County Public Library System in Florida. You can also view previous Webinar recordings to get the latest updates and plans for the coming year. Additionally, there are four Geek the Library compilation videos available. All can serve as effective tools to get your community interested in learning more about your campaign and excited about sharing what they geek. Many participating libraries have used the videos running in a loop both in the library and at events. The videos are available for Download from the Campaign Management Center (CMC). |
