This city in Lawrence County, Indiana was settled ca. 1813, but not platted until 1852. It has gone by Woodland and Woodville, but the name was officially changed in 1854 to Mitchell.

Scope and Content Note:

This collection is comprised of one account book from a general store in Woodland (now Mitchell), Indiana. It includes daily transactions with the name of the customer listed, what was purchased, and at what price.
